Dr. V.K. Singh is superannuated as Surgeon Rear Admiral from Armed Forces Medical Services of India after 37 years of service in various national & international assignments. Awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (Distinguished Services Medal) for services at Zambia by the President of India and commendation by Government of Zambia, has a MBBS, Masters in Hospital Administration, Diplomate of National Board in Hospital and Health Care Management, and a Masters in Philosophy.
Presently, Dr. Singh is Managing Director of IC, Honorary Professor-Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University, Australia and Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Management and Indian Institute of Technology. He has been the Chairman of the Health Care Division of Quality Council of India, Director Asia, Simpler healthcare Lean & excellence, Adjunct Professor of Ivey school business, Canada and President & Fellow of Academy of Hospital administration. He is also a senior professor of teaching hospital design and planning, quality and lean principles, patient safety, disaster planning, strategic management, health care innovation, rural health planning and other management issues. He has planned and executed health/hospital projects by reducing cost at the planning and operations level and led transformations of organizations in India and abroad by applying lean innovations and evidence-based principles. He has published two books "Innovations in Healthcare Management: Cost-Effective and Sustainable Solution" and “Planning and Designing Healthcare Facilities: A Lean, Innovative, and Evidence-Based Approach” by CRC Press, USA. He also publishes global magazine InnoHEALTH.
