Surgeon R Admiral V.K. Singh, VSM (Retd) is Managing Director of InnovatioCuris (IC); Adjunct Professor at the World Heath Innovation Network, Odette School of Business, University of Windsor, Canada; Honorary Professor at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University, Australia; Visiting professor of Indian Institute of Management, Indian Institute of Technology. He has authored two books, Innovations in Healthcare Management: Cost Effective and Sustainable Solutions, with national and international authors which was published in USA in 2015. V.K. received the Shingo Award in 2018 and now has the Special Indian Edition. Furthermore, he has authored a second book, Planning and Designing Healthcare Facilities: Lean, Innovative and Evidence Based, which was published in October 2017. V.K. launched a global magazine in healthcare innovation in both electronic and print format called InnoHealth in 2016 that receives a regular readership of more than 40,000.

Professor V.K. Singh superannuated from Armed Forces Medical Services of India after 37 years of service in various national and international assignments. He was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (Distinguished Service Medal) for services in Zambia by the President of India and commendation by Government of Zambia. He has his Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS), Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA), Diplomate National Board in Hospital and Health Care Management and a Masters in Philosophy (MPhil). He has served as Deputy Chief Medical Officer of United Nations and visited 39 countries. Further, he has published numerous articles in national and international journals and chapters in various books. V.K. previously was an Adjunct Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) Zaragoza and an Adjunct Research Professor at the International Centre for Health Innovation, Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Further he consulted with the National Disaster Management Authority and has formulated national guidelines for disaster and mass management of casualties. He was President and is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Hospital Administration, Chairman Board of Indian Society of Health Professionals, Founding Director of the International Institute of Health Management Research, New Delhi. He has conceived and executed a telemedicine project connecting inaccessible areas with Delhi. Finally, he is a consultant in the JCI accreditation system and is an Assessor of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). V.K has developed a health specific EFQM model released in India by the Union Health Minister in December 2010. He had been Chairman, Health Care Division of Quality Council of India and Director of Healthcare Asia Simpler, consultant and master trainer in application of Lean principles in Health care. V.K. has planned and executed both health system and hospital projects to cut down cost during the planning of operations and transformation of health organizations in India and abroad by applying lean innovation and evidence-based principles.
