Mary Kardos Burton Leader in Health and Social Services Mary Kardos Burton, a leader in health and social services, was formerly the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Acute Services and Community Health Divisions with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and held executive positions with the Ministry of Community and Social Services. At the national level she co-chaired an advisory committee recommending strategies for provincial ministers and deputy ministers on public health issues. Currently specializing in interim executive management and strategy development, Mary was an interim vice president at Health Quality Ontario, chaired two of the standards committees for the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, and was an interim CEO for Central West Community Care Access Centre. She has also completed a variety of assignments for private and not-for-profit organizations, including the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network, the World Innovation Network at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, the Association for Community Health Centres, and the United Way. She served as a Board Trustee at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and is currently Chair at Belmont House, a long term care and retirement home. She is also a public member on the College for Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
