Christopher Smith is an impatient optimist looking to accelerate the reduction of inequities in food and health systems. This will require truly transformative and likely disruptive changes, which Chris believes must be done through collaboration.

As a graduate from the first Bachelor of Public Health degree in Canada at Brock University, Chris is equipped with the experience and expertise to tackle emerging public health issues. One of the many public health issues he is most passionate about is the relationship between food and health systems. He has explored this relationship internationally while on exchange at Curtin University in Western Australia and though post-graduate food security studies at Ryerson University in Toronto.

More recently, Chris completed a Master of Public Administration degree from Dalhousie University. While there, he led teams through national and international case competitions, participated in an exchange program at Sciences-Po Lille in France, and received the Roselle Green award for high academic achievement and community involvement.

Chris aims to combine his educational and professional expertise with his personal experiences within food and health systems to drive change in policies and programs in order to improve the food security and health for all.
