Carol Stephenson is the Corporate Director of Intact Financial Services Inc. where she is also Chairperson of the Compliance and Corporate Governance Committee and sits on the Human Resources and Compensation Committee. She is Corporate Director of Ballard Power Systems and also serves on the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committee. Ms. Stephenson also serves as Corporate Director at General Motors, where she is Chair of the Executive Compensation Committee and the Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. Additionally, Ms. Stephenson serves on the Audit Committee and Executive Compensation Committee of Maple Leaf Food Inc.

Until September 2013, she was the Dean of the Ivey Business School at Western University, a position she held since July 2003. She has worked for more than 30 years in the telecommunications and technology industries, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lucent Technologies Canada from July 1999 to February 2003. She was also appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in December 2009. Ms. Stephenson was the 2010 Chair of the United Way Campaign for London & Middlesex, Ontario.

Ms. Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She has also completed the Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of California, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. In 2000, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering from Ryerson Polytechnic University. In 2016, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in law from the University of Western Ontario.
