At the 2018 HIMMS Global Conference and Exhibition, the panel discussed the importance of collaboration and learning across global jurisdiction, and explored the value of innovation as a strategy to accelerate integrated care to achieve value for populations. Vice Admiral Raquel C Bono described the unique structure and strengths of the Defense Health Agency serving the health care needs of active military service personnel and their families. The Defense Health Agency presents a unique opportunity for collaboration with other health systems to design and implement new, innovative models of integrated care that achieve value for patients and their families. The need to create the evidence of value for the populations health systems serve was profiled by Dr. Charles Alessi and Professor Dorothy Keefe, who described similar challenges and opportunities across the British and Australian health systems.
